Who needs an image under 50 KB?
The strictest upload limits on the internet are 50 KB. Government job portals, bank and public-service exam applications, and many scholarship and admission forms cap your photo — and often your signature scan — at 50 KB, while a photo straight from a phone is usually 2–5 MB, around a hundred times too big. If a portal keeps rejecting your upload with “file too large”, this page is set up for exactly that job: the target is locked to 50 KB, so you drop the photo in, press Process, and download a version the form will accept. The same goes for profile photos on older forums and ID-card portals that still enforce a 50 KB ceiling.
Questions
How do I compress an image to 50 KB or less?
Drop your image above — the target size is already set to 50 KB — and press “Process images”. ImgShrink lowers the quality step by step, and shrinks the dimensions too if quality alone is not enough, until the result fits under 50 KB.
Will the compressed photo still look clear enough for an application form?
Yes, for form use. Application photos are displayed small, and at 50 KB a standard ID-style photo stays sharp and recognisable. If your portal also specifies pixel dimensions (for example 200 × 230 px), check the result size shown next to your download — or resize first with the ImgShrink Resizer, then compress here.
